Today we’re talking about the talented and tenacious Coco Gauff. At just 19 years old, Coco has taken the tennis world by storm with her impressive singles career and remarkable success in doubles with partner Jessica Pegula.

Let’s start with her singles career. Coco burst onto the scene in 2019, shocking the world with her incredible run at Wimbledon. There, she became the youngest player in the Open Era to qualify for the main draw. She then went on to defeat her idol, Venus Williams, in the first round before eventually falling to eventual champion Simona Halep in the fourth round. But Coco’s star was just beginning to rise.

Since then, Coco has continued to make a name for herself on the singles circuit. Coco already claimed three WTA singles titles. She’s also made her way into both the quarterfinals and semifinals on multiple occasions! Further solidifying her place as one of the brightest rising young talents in the sport.

As Coco continues to grow and develop as a player, there’s no doubt that she’ll continue to make a name for herself. She’s already proven that she has the talent and the drive to compete at the highest levels of the sport. With her strong work ethic and unwavering determination, the sky is truly the limit for this rising star.

Coco Gauff Doubles Career

Coco Gauff Doubles, Jessica Pegula

But, Coco isn’t just skilled at singles! Her greatest success is in doubles. Coco Gauff is currently ranked world number one in women’s Tennis doubles alongside partner Jessica Pegula. Together, they’ve won eight doubles titles!

Surprisingly the dynamic duo faced a disappointing loss at the Madrid Open. The pair lost in two sets in the finals against Azarenka and Haddad Maia. Despite their disappointing performance, we know they’ll make a comeback in Rome at the Italian Open!

Coco initially began playing doubles to improve her singles game. Doubles games tend to be faster and require players to respond quicker, so training doubles is sure to improve singles performance. However, after seeing so much success in doubles, we don’t imagine she’ll be quitting anytime soon!

What makes Coco and Jessica such a formidable doubles team is their complementary playing styles. Coco’s speed and agility on the court pairs perfectly with Jessica’s powerful groundstrokes and strong net game. They’re able to anticipate each other’s moves and communicate effectively, making them a force to be reckoned with on any surface.

But it’s not just their skills that make them such a great team. Coco and Jessica also have a close friendship off the court! Their friendship translates into a strong sense of trust and support on the court. They’re able to rely on each other in high-pressure situations, and that’s what’s helped them to achieve so much success in such a short amount of time.

So, whether she’s dominating on the singles court or tearing it up in doubles with Jessica, one thing is for sure, Coco Gauff is just getting started! We can’t wait to see what she’ll achieve next.

It looks like our favourite teenage tennis sensation, Coco Gauff, is making a bold fashion statement with her new off-court sneaker design! The 19-year-old has dropped a new pair of Coco CG1 sneakers with New Balance. This pair is Coco’s first pair of off-court shoes. The neon yellow ‘Fuzzy Ace’ shoes are designed to look like tennis balls, how fitting.

But let’s be real, Coco is always one to watch when it comes to style. On the court, she’s known for her sleek, athletic ensembles that are as functional as they are fashionable. Off the court, she’s just as impressive, often sporting trendy, street-style looks that are both youthful and chic.

Coco’s foray into fashion is not surprising, given her style both on and off the court. Her ‘Fuzzy Ace’ sneakers are not just another celebrity collaboration, they are a true reflection of Coco’s style and personality. Coco has always been immersed in fashion and has expressed her desire to pursue a career in the industry, even beyond tennis.

Coco CG1 Fuzzy Ace Sneakers

Coco Gauff

When it comes to tennis, New Balance is no stranger to the game. They’ve sponsored some of the biggest names in tennis, including Milos Raonic, Heather Watson, and of course, Coco Gauff.

Now, you may be thinking, “New Balance? Isn’t that the brand that your dad wears for his morning jogs?” But let me tell you, my dear friends, New Balance is much more than that. New Balance has seen a massive revival in recent years with their New Balance 550 sneakers constantly selling out. So, it’s only fitting a fashionista like Coco collaborate with New Balance.

Now, this isn’t her first collaboration with her sponsor New Balance. But it is the first pair of sneakers that are designed to be worn off-court. So, let’s look at the details!

The Details

Coco Gauff, Coco CG1 sneakers

After releasing her performance shoe in the summer of 2022, Coco wanted to release a more lifestyle type of shoe. The Coco CG1, also known as the “Fuzzy Ace”, is that shoe. This sneaker is all about standing out, featuring a yellow tennis ball colour, and hairy suede throughout. Serving major 90s vibes, these sneakers turn heads off the court. Don’t worry, they still feature the classic Coco signature on the tongue which can be found on all of her New Balance collabs.

The “Fuzzy Ace” shoes are unisex and offered in women’s sizes 5.5-16.5 and men’s sizes 4-15. They were officially dropped on Mach 31st during the Miami Open, how fitting! They retail for $169.99 USD and they are selling out fast. So, if you’re a Coco fan, or maybe just a fellow fashionista, we do not recommend sleeping on these!

So, what’s next for this rising star? Only time will tell, but one thing’s for sure – Coco Gauff is here to stay, both on and off the court. And with her impeccable sense of style, I have a feeling that we’ll be seeing a lot more fashion collaborations from her in the future!

Last week was a dramatic one in the world of tennis, as the 2023 Australian Open took center stage in Melbourne. One of the standout moments of the tournament was the emotional performance of young American sensation Coco Gauff, who faced a tough defeat in the fourth round.

Gauff, who was the seventh seed in Melbourne, was faced with Latvian Jelena Ostapenko on Margaret Court Arena, and despite putting up a valiant effort, was defeated 7-5, 6-3 in straight sets. The 18-year-old broke down in tears during her post-match press conference, expressing her disappointment and frustration over the result.

Gauff, who had been showing great form and promise earlier in the season, having won the ASB Classic in Auckland, was unable to overcome Ostapenko’s solid performance, who saved seven of the eight break points she faced and capitalized on all three of her opportunities on Gauff’s serve. Despite the loss, Gauff was optimistic and professional in her post-match comments, acknowledging that sometimes, you just have to give credit to your opponent who played better on the day.

Meanwhile, fellow American Jessica Pegula continued to progress in the tournament, securing her spot in the quarterfinals after a strong 7-5, 6-2 victory over Czech Barbora Krejcikova. Pegula, who was seeded third in the tournament, became the highest-ranked player left in the women’s draw, giving American fans plenty of reason to cheer.

However, the biggest shock of the tournament came when women’s world number one Iga Światek was defeated by Elena Rybakina, who reached the quarterfinals for the first time in Melbourne Park. Światek, who was the tournament favorite after reaching the semifinals last year and winning eight titles in 2022, including two grand slams, was beaten 6-4, 6-4 on Rod Laver Arena.

In her post-match comments, Światek spoke about feeling the pressure and how she felt that she “didn’t want to lose” instead of “wanting to win.” The young Polish star acknowledged that this was something she needed to focus on in the coming weeks and months.

The 2023 Australian Open was a tournament filled with thrilling matches, stunning upsets, and memorable moments. The players will now move on to their next challenges, but the memories of this year’s tournament in Melbourne will linger for a long time to come.
