The FBI released a 475-page document relating to O.J. Simpson on Friday. The pages largely focus on the murder investigation of Simpson’s ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ronald Goldman. After a sensational criminal trial that mesmerized America for eight months, Simpson was acquitted of all charges.

Much of the 475 pages is dedicated to the FBI’s investigation into the Bruno Magli shoes that were determined to have been worn by the killer. The FBI traveled to Italy to investigate the shoes and found that only 296 pairs of size 12 shoes that matched the impressions found at the crime scene were distributed. Investigators were instructed to contact all 40 U.S. retailers of the shoes, first to seek any general information regarding their tracking of sales and later to specifically inquire about any recollections of O.J. Simpson as a customer or having sold shoes to a celebrity or a family member.

The remaining pages largely consist of memos and reports detailing evidence, including hair, blood and clothing samples, and references to photographs (the photos are not included in the documents).

Nearly two years after she suffered a debilitating heart attack, Kim Pegula is still listed as a co-owner of the Buffalo Bills and Buffalo Sabres alongside her husband, Terry. The Pegulas used to own the Bills 50-50, but that is no longer the case.

Palm Beach County Circuit Civil Court documents show that on Feb. 13, 2023, Terry Pegula filed to have Kim ruled incapacitated and to be made her guardian. A panel of three court-appointed examiners recommended incapacitation, and on March 23, 2023, a judge named Terry the “plenary guardian of the person and property” of his wife.

The documents also show that many of Kim’s assets have been placed in a trust, with Terry and longtime petroleum business collaborator Bob Long listed as co-trustees.

“The court has determined that the ward lacks capacity to handle all of their affairs, and everything that can be delegated has been delegated to someone else,” said Stacy Beth Rubel, chairperson of the Florida Bar’s guardianship, power of attorney and advance directives committee.

“Kim is not coming back” to the Bills or Sabres front office, a longtime Pegula family associate briefed on her condition and prognosis said.

O.J. Simpson, known as one of the most prolific players on the field in Buffalo Bills franchise history and also for the criminal and civil trials in the deaths of his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ronald Goldman, died of cancer Thursday at the age of 76.

Simpson’s family announced the death at 10:28 a.m. ET, and as of the time of this article’s publication, the Bills had not acknowledged Simpson’s death and had not issued any statements when asked.

Nothing sums up how the franchise has distanced itself from Simpson better than that silence. But other micro moves over time have signaled a team backing away from the name littered throughout its record books.

In recent years, the Bills have made a concerted effort to get some of their alumni involved with the organization, having adopted the “Bills Legends Community.”

Their mission statement reads, “To forge and cultivate beneficial relationships between the Buffalo Bills organization, our former players, and coaches. We look to support, celebrate, and engage our former players and their families through available resources and programming created to assist in a holistic capacity long after their playing days.”

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. — Damien Harris discovered just this week his first child will be a boy.

Sunday night, an instant after rushing for a Buffalo Bills first down, Harris fell to the ground with a neck injury. He lay motionless and flat on his back. The Highmark Stadium crowd fell silent. The ambulance was summoned.

Left tackle Dion Dawkins checked to make sure Harris was breathing — something the Bills couldn’t immediately see from another teammate 10 months ago — but then walked away, unable to watch Harris get strapped to the backboard and driven away.

“Imagine if he can’t hold his son,” Bills left tackle Dion Dawkins said, unable to stop thinking about the 26-year-old Harris and his expecting wife, Nyasha. “Off of one play? That’s scary, man.”

The injury occurred on Harris’ only offensive snap in the Bills’ 14-9 victory over the New York Giants and evoked memories of safety Damar Hamlin’s cardiac arrest last season.
