Swiatek finds Rybakina and avoids Sabalenka

The BNP Paribas Open on the hard-courts of Indian Wells gave a very precise verdict: Iga Swiatek and Aryna Sabalenka will only be able to compete in the final. Iga Swiatek leads the draw and she is in the top-half with Elena Rybakina. Coco Gauff is in the bottom-half with Aryna Sabalenka. This is the outcome of the draw for the WTA 1000 in Indian Wells starting on Wednesday 6 March.

Jasmine Paolini, champion in Dubai, is in Elena Rybakina’s zone and could face Anna Kalinskaya again in the third round, to whom she lost in Melbourne but whom she beat in the final in the United Arab Emirates.

The potential quarterfinals of the tournament would be Iga Swiatek vs Ons Jabeur, Elena Rybakina vs Marketa Vondrousova, Qinwen Zheng vs Coco Gauff and Jessica Pegula vs Aryna Sabalenka.

The WTA No.1 Iga Swiatek could again play in the second round against Danielle Collins, as happened in Melbourne.
