Swiatek begins 60th consecutive week at No.1, Rybakina enters Top 5

After the conclusion of the two-week Internazionali BNL d’Italia, the latest WTA rankings have been released. While there are no significant changes in the Top 20, several players have achieved noteworthy career milestones.

Retaining her position as the top-ranked player in the WTA rankings is Iga Swiatek, who has now spent an impressive 60 consecutive weeks at the number one spot since April 4, 2022. Although the two-time defending champion suffered a thigh injury during a late-night match against Elena Rybakina in this year’s Rome quarterfinals, Swiatek remains the dominant force in women’s tennis, holding a substantial lead of 1,399 points over the second-ranked Aryna Sabalenka.

The Top 5 has a new member, Elena Rybakina. The newly-crowned Internazionali BNL d’Italia champion has risen from No.6 to No.4. Notably, Rybakina had already made history as the first player representing Kazakhstan to break into the Top 10. Now, she elevates that accomplishment even further.
