Swiatek, Alcaraz team up as Arthur Ashe Kids’ Day breaks attendance record

Saturday’s Arthur Ashe Kids’ Day at the 2023 US Open set an all-time attendance record of 40,868, breaking the previous record of 35,525 set last year at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center.

Reigning US Open champions and top-ranked players Iga Swiatek and Carlos Alcaraz teamed up for some mixed doubles and entertained the crowd with their football tennis. Coco Gauff and 23-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic were also there.

With one day left, the free-to-attend US Open Fan Week has already attracted 135,672 attendees, exceeding its previous highest attendance of 111,924 recorded in 2022. The current year’s Fan Week attendance has surged by 33 percent compared to the figures of 2022.

Fan Week concludes on Sunday. The US Open main draw begins on Monday and runs through Sunday, September 10.
