After a dominant showing during the regular season, Marshall will be the No. 1 seed at this year’s Sun Belt women’s basketball tournament.
The Thundering Herd earned a jump straight to the tournament quarterfinals with a 17-1 conference record. They are 23-6 overall and haven’t dropped a game since a 72-63 loss to James Madison on Feb. 3.
Their biggest challenger in this year’s bracket could be No. 2 Troy, which is riding a seven-game winning streak into the quarterfinal round. No. 3 James Madison and No. 4 Old Dominion also secured double-byes.
