Yet Clark herself is not the reason driving her name’s circulation in the news.

Instead, her supposed fans have become a talking point after Sun star forward Alyssa Thomas and head coach Stephanie White addressed the racist and sexist comments that were made toward Connecticut players during their playoff series against Indiana.

Those statements ignited intense discourse on social media regarding Clark and her fan base, even though Clark backed Thomas’ sentiment about WNBA fans needing to be better in her 2024 exit interview.

WNBA legend Sue Bird made sure to separate Clark from the fans in question during a podcast appearance, specifying that those people aren’t truly Clark supporters at all.
