Stanford guard Haley Jones is entering the 2023 WNBA Draft, she announced on social media Thursday following her inclusion on the WNBA’s full list of players who had formally declared earlier this week. Here’s what you need to know:
- The 6-foot-1 Jones averaged 13.5 points, nine rebounds and four assists during her senior season. She shot 43.2 percent from the field.
- Despite playing four NCAA seasons, Jones had an additional year of eligibility remaining because of the COVID-19 pandemic and could have returned to school. The No. 1-seeded Cardinal were upset by Ole Miss in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
- The Athletic’s Sabreena Merchant projected the two-time All-American and 2021 NCAA champion to be selected at No. 4, by the Mystics, in her latest mock draft.
