Stan Wawrinka has signed up to play at an ATP 500 tournament in Rotterdam, per Michal Samulski. In February, Wawrinka will be making his sixth main draw appearance on the indoor-hard courts of Rotterdam.

Wawrinka has had success in Rotterdam, having made two finals at the tournament. In 2015, Wawrinka defeated Tomas Berdych in the Rotterdam final. Four years later, Wawrinka made his second Rotterdam final but this time didn’t win the title after losing to Gael Monfils.
Wawrinka’s last appearance in Rotterdam came in 2021, when he lost to Karen Khachanov in the first round. Wawrinka is now set to return to Rotterdam as he joins a star-studded player field that includes Daniil Medvedev, Stefanos Tsitsipas, Holger Rune, Andrey Rublev and Felix Auger-Aliassime.
Wawrinka feels he still has the game
In early December, Wawrinka competed at the Diriyah Tennis Cup. In Saudi Arabia, Wawrinka defeated Matteo Berrettini and Rublev before losing to Medvedev in the semifinal. “I’m not playing badly for my age, I’ve been on tour for many years and luckily we played a super tiebreak in the third set, which was the best for me.
