Spike Lee doesn’t pop out very often (except to New York Knicks games, of course), but when he does he makes things memorable.
Making an appearance on Carmelo Anthony’s (yes, that Carmelo Anthony) podcast “7PM in Brooklyn with Carmelo Anthony,” the legendary director shared his take on the new movie “Sinners,” which opens in theaters today. Directed by Ryan Coogler and starring Michael B. Jordan, the film is already receiving rave reviews for its originality, storytelling and acting. One of those rave reviews is, indeed, from Spike Lee, who said on the show, “I was in LA, and Ryan called me to tell me they were testing the IMAX for the film…I didn’t even know what it was. It was myself, Ryan and his beautiful wife, and I thought I was courtside at the Garden!”
“There’s one scene…I don’t want to give everything away. There’s one scene where it goes through the whole history of our music, and then my brother [Jordan] is playing twins, and then I got it,” he continued. “I hope everybody supports this film—it’s amazing!”
