After a gruelling month of football, the Women’s World Cup Final is finally here, as Spain and England look to win their first ever World Cup title at Stadium Australia in Sydney.
Spain have overcome 15 key players refusing to play under current coach Jorge Vilda to make it to the final, as well as back-to-back Ballon d’Or winner Alexia Putellas struggling for form at the tournament.
England meanwhile haven’t been undone by injuries to captain Leah Williamson and star forward Beth Mead, and have grown stronger as the tournament has progressed.
Spain are looking to win their first ever trophy, which would be an amazing achievement for a team that had previously only reached the Round of 16, whilst England are looking to win a first World Cup in either men’s or women’s football since 1966, and are looking for a second trophy in just over 12 months after their European championship win last year.
