The South Carolina Gamecocks women’s basketball team is six wins from perfection.
South Carolina enters the 2024 NCAA Tournament with a spotless 32-0 record. The undefeated Gamecocks unsurprisingly earned the No. 1 overall seed, and they will open the tournament on their home floor.
As impressive as the team has been overall this season, South Carolina has been even better at home. The Gamecocks posted a 15-0 home record in the regular season, and all but one of those games was decided by double digits.
Led by head coach Dawn Staley, South Carolina boasts a talented roster that features seniors Kamilla Cardoso and Te-Hina Paopao and an electrifying freshman in MiLaysia Fulwiley.
Still, the journey to a national title won’t be easy. The Gamecocks are in the same quadrant of the bracket as Notre Dame, Oregon State and Indiana, all tough potential foes on the path to the Final Four.
