South Carolina, Indiana, Stanford and Utah were ranked as the No. 1 seeds Thursday by the NCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Committee in the second of two top 16 rankings reveals. Here’s what you need to know:
- South Carolina (27-0) remains the top seed in the rankings. The defending national champion Gamecocks were ranked No. 1 earlier this month in the first of the season’s top-16 reveal, which offers a look at how teams could be seeded in this season’s March Madness tournament.
- Utah (23-3) improved to the No. 4 overall spot and the top seed in its regional group, while UConn (24-5) falls to seventh overall and second in its regional group.
- The full 68-team bracket will be announced at 8 p.m. ET on March 12 on ESPN.
