Sofia Kenin, the 2020 Australian Open singles champion, will replace Madison Keys on the U.S. Billie Jean King Cup team for the 2023 qualifier against Austria next weekend.
The former world No.4 Kenin, from Pembroke Pines, Fla., has played for the U.S. team four times since her debut in 2018. She joins a team that includes Jessica Pegula, Coco Gauff, Danielle Collins, and Caty McNally.
The Qualifier is a best-of-five match series that will take place on April 14-15 at the Delray Beach Tennis Center in Florida, and Billie Jean King will be in attendance. Two singles matches will take place on the first day, with two reverse singles matches and a doubles match on the second day. If either team wins in the third or fourth singles match, the schedule may be amended.
