Former doubles world No. 1 Rennae Stubbs has the highest possible expectations for the Iga Swiatek and Wim Fissette collaboration as she thinks the Pole is primed for great things and to “look like a legend.”
Even before the Polish tennis star officially lost the world No. 1 position to Aryna Sabalenka, the feeling was that the Belarusian had been playing and looking like the best player in the world for the past few months. And after failing to get gold at the Paris Olympics or do well at the US Open, the 23-year-old decided it was time to end her three-year partnership with coach Tomasz Wiktorowski.
Just as Swiatek made the move, Naomi Osaka also parted ways with Fissette.
