Six USWNT players have been named on the shortlist of nominees for The Best FIFA Football Awards 2024.
Lyon’s Lindsey Horan, the Chicago Red Stars’ Mallory Swanson, the San Diego Waves’ Naomi Girma, the Portland Thorn’s Sophia Smith, and the Washington Spirit’s Trinity Rodman have all been nominated for the Best FIFA Women’s Player award.
The Chicago Red Stars’ Alyssa Naeher has been nominated for the Best FIFA Women’s Goalkeeper award.
Former Chelsea Women’s manager Emma Hayes, who became the head coach of the USWNT in May 2024, has been nominated for The Best FIFA Women’s Coach award.
Real Madrid’s Kylian Mbappe, Manchester City’s Erling Haaland and Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal are among those vying for the men’s player award while the USMNT’s Christian Pulisic is one of the midfield nominees for The Best FIFA Men’s 11.
Voting is open on the FIFA website until December 10, with fans helping decide the winners alongside the current captains and coaches of all men’s and women’s national teams, and media representatives.
