The greatest gymnast of all time will return to the U.S. Gymnastics Championships this week in Fort Worth, Texas, looking to capture a historic ninth national title.
Simone Biles will compete against fellow Olympic all-around champion Suni Lee, who is seeking another Olympic berth. Jade Carey, the Tokyo 2020 floor champion, will also compete, adding another Olympian to the field.
Tokyo 2020 team silver medalist Jordan Chiles and two-time world all-around medalist Shilese Jones are also obstacles Biles will have to overcome en route to another U.S. Gymnastics Championship title.
There will be one notable absence: Gabby Douglas. The 28-year-old dropped out of the competition because of ankle injury that she suffered during training, ending her comeback bid.
