Simone Biles gymnastics schedule: How to watch USA star’s events live at 2023 World Gymnastics Championships

Date:

She’s back and better than ever.

Simone Biles in Antwerp might be the best we’ve seen her yet, just two months after she returned to competition.

She’s well on her way to more gymnastics history and has already put her name in the 2023 World Championships record book. During qualifications, Biles competed a Yurchenko double pike on the vault, scoring a 15.266. She’s the first female gymnast to do the skill in international competition, so the skill is named “Biles II.” It’s the fifth skill named after the Olympian.

At 26, Biles is the oldest American woman to compete at Worlds in over 50 years. In a sport that’s dominated by athletes in their teens, Biles signifies the change in longevity in gymnastics, particularly in the U.S. Only one American team member at Worlds is younger than 18.

Just how Biles defies the laws of gravity, she defies the laws of aging. She has her sights set on Paris, what would be her third Olympics. She would become the third America female gymnast to be a three-time Olympian.
