Simone Biles, our favourite gymnastics queen, tied the knot with her beau, Jonathan Owens, in a surprise courthouse wedding! As you know, Simone is a seven-time Olympic medalist who made headlines in 2020 for withdrawing from the Tokyo Olympics to prioritize her mental health. And now, she’s making headlines once again for tying the knot with her NFL player beau in a low-key ceremony!
Despite withdrawing from the Tokyo Olympics to focus on her mental health, Simone has not retired from the sport. In fact, she’s been working hard in the gym and making sure to take care of herself mentally and emotionally. But, she also knows how to have some fun and celebrate life’s special moments, and her courthouse wedding was just that.
For those of you who don’t know, Jonathan Owens is a professional football player for the Houston Texans. The couple met on social media in 2020, and their love story has been making headlines ever since. It just goes to show that social media can lead to real-life fairytales.

Can we just take a moment to appreciate how stunning she looked on that rooftop with her now-husband, Jonathan? Now, would you believe me if I told you that this dress only cost $120? According to Simone, everything for the couples courthouse wedding was purchased the same week as their ceremony!

The same brand Selfie Leslie does however carry a very similar style, though it comes in at $250. The Nightingale Mesh Tiered Maxi white dress is a great alternative serving a very similar look to Simone’s dress!
Simone chose to pair her dress with a pair of $58 wide strappy sandals from Pretty Little Thing. Not only that, both Simone and Jonathan’s wedding bands were ordered off Amazon! This gold eternity band from Amazon looks exactly like Simone’s.
But, don’t worry, this wedding was only round one! The couple has a destination wedding planned in the coming weeks, but needed to tie the knot legally in the states first. As for the destination wedding look, we’ll have to wait and see. Simone has said the couple has decided to save their real wedding bands for the destination wedding, though the Amazon bands certainly look the part!
But let’s not forget what this wedding really represents. Simone has been taking time off from gymnastics to focus on her mental health, and this wedding is a celebration of the love and support she has in her life.
