Wearing a tight-fitting custom Gucci gown, Serena Williams revealed a baby bump at Monday night’s Met Gala in New York City and announced her second pregnancy.
Captioning an Instagram carousel of photos which includes one where she is all smiles with her husband Alexis Ohanian, the 41-year-old Williams shared that they are expecting their second child: “Was so excited when Anna Wintour invited the three of us to the Met Gala.” One of the photos even zooms in on Williams’ hands as she gently cradles her growing belly.
Williams’ husband, a co-founder of Reddit and tech entrepreneur, also shared his excitement on social media: “Mama and Papa love this parenting-thing, so we’re back at it, and Olympia is gonna be the best Big Sister—she’s been asking and praying for this for a minute.”
The black-and-white Gucci dress Williams chose for the glamorous event at the Metropolitan Museum of Art was accessorized with Tiffany & Co. jewelry, in particular the Picasso and Ziegfeld collection pearl necklaces, Tiffany Victoria earrings and a Tiffany T True ring.
The retired tennis champion famously won her 23rd Grand Slam title at the 2017 Australian Open while being pregnant with daughter Olympia who was born in October 2017.
