Former six-time Grand Slam champion in doubles Rennae Stubbs thinks Jannik Sinner can expect to be “scrutinized for the rest of his career” after the positive doping test news but also highlighted that it is very likely true that the Italian didn’t intentionally do anything illegal and that it was just an unfortunate situation.

In case you have missed it, it was announced on Tuesday that Sinner failed two separate tests in March for clostebol, an anabolic steroid. But after it was explained that the banned substance got into the 23-year-old’s body through the contaminated over-the-counter spray, it was accepted and the 2024 Australian Open champion avoided facing any bans. 

The news came as a shock to many and naturally, some weren’t happy – that doesn’t include only fans, but several pro players also grieved their annoyance with the moves made in the case.
