Serena Williams’ childhood coach tells Cori Gauff he can fix her forehand

Serena Williams’ childhood coach Rick Macci reveals he would accept to work with Cori Gauff as he thinks he can help the 19-year-old American greatly improve her forehand. Gauff, the 2022 French Open runner-up, has established herself as one of the best players in the game.

Gauff is usually consistent and reaching the latter stages of Grand Slam and WTA 1000 tournaments but she just hasn’t been able to make a big breakthrough and win a title at a really big tournament. Gauff’s forehand is considered a liability and it usually gets exposed in a big way when the 19-year-old plays against the top players.

If Macci got a chance to work with Gauff, he’d try to improve the American’s forehand and serve.

Macci would accept to work with Gauff

During an interview with Sportskeeda, Macci was asked to name the player he’d pick to coach.

“Maybe Coco Gauff, because I know her dad and I know that I can fix that forehand and make it one of her biggest assets. Right now, there is a hole there and under pressure it bubbles up. She needs to take some time off and in a couple of months, I have to put that whole thing together and reverse engineer it and reprogram her reflexes.
