Serena Williams’ childhood coach makes prediction on Aryna Sabalenka

Serena Williams’ childhood coach Rick Macci is impressed by Aryna Sabalenka’s power and tipped the Belarusian to win multiple Grand Slams before she retires. Sabalenka, who captured her first Grand Slam title at this year’s Australian Open, has one of the biggest games on the WTA Tour.

When Sabalenka’s game is clicking, the Belarusian is one of the most difficult opponents to handle. In the first part of the 2023 season, Sabalenka has been delivering the tennis of her life. Besides her Australian Open victory, Sabalenka also won Adelaide and finished as runner-up in Indian Wells and Stuttgart.

At the ongoing Madrid Open, Sabalenka has been through to the semifinal.

“Listen, power trumps everything. If you can keep it in, and let’s face it, at the end of the day, in pro tennis, it’s about how hard you can hit it and keep it in.

I understand that you’ve got to chip it, dip it, flip it and all that stuff. You can sprinkle in that stuff. But I love how aggressive Aryna Sabalenka is. She attacks the ball. There’s no fear. If she’s mentally not there, she might be herself every now and then, but I can see her win multiple Grand Slams.
