Scorpions Volleyball Club Tryouts to Benefit Cambridge Food Bank

Sept. 14, 2022…. For immediate release…..News Directors…. The Cambridge Youth Scorpions Volleyball Club is the largest non-profit indoor and beach volleyball club in the Waterloo Region.

The  Scorpions Club is holding their competitive team tryouts for up to 500 youth ranging from the ages of 10 to 18 starting Saturday September 17th, at Jacob Hespeler Secondary School in Cambridge (355 Holiday Inn Dr.). The tryouts begin at 9:00am and run all day ending at 9:15pm. 

There is usually a cost to attend the tryouts but this year the Club wanted to see if we could help out the community while giving the athletes the opportunity to make a competitive team. 

With that in mind we have been coordinating with the Cambridge Food Bank to collect non-perishable items and money. We’re challenging the athletes to raise over the equivalent of 312 lbs of food (which equates to $1000) for the Food Bank in the hopes that we can help give back to the community in this time of great need.

You do not have to attend the tryouts to donate to the Food Bank that day. You can just come to the gym and drop off your donation.
