Earlier today, the news everyone here at theFashionSpot has been waiting on for months (if not years) finally dropped. Sabato De Sarno is out at Gucci as creative director, after just two years. De Sarno joined the Italian fashion house as creative director in January of 2023. In September of the same year, De Sarno presented his highly-anticipated debut collection during the Spring 2024 season of Milan Fashion Week. Collections and campaigns under the designer’s control have proved somewhat… questionable. The Kering-owned label reported nine-month sales down 21% in 2024. De Sarno’s departure is effective immediately. The upcoming Fall 2025 collection will go ahead as planned during MFW later this month, but will be presented by the Gucci design studio. A replacement has not yet been announced.
