Fourth seed Elena Rybakina returned to the Roland Garros quarterfinals after three years with a 6-4 6-3 victory over 15th seed Elina Svitolina.
The 2022 Wimbledon champion Rybakina opened the match with a break, but her early games were marred by unforced errors, allowing Svitolina to level at 2-2. However, Rybakina regained her composure, secured another break, and maintained her lead to take the set in 39 minutes.

Rybakina’s opponent in the quarterfinals will be 12th seed Jasmine Paolini, who defeated Elina Avanesyan 4-6 6-0 6-1 in a clash scheduled simultaneously on Court Suzanne Lenglen while Rybakina was playing on Court Philippe Chatrier.
In the top half of the draw, the quarterfinalists were determined on Sunday: Iga Swiatek vs. Marketa Vondrousova and Coco Gauff vs. Ons Jabeur.
