Russell Wilson may have recruited ex-1,000-yard Ole Miss Rebels star to Steelers

Ever since the departure of the Killer B’s, the Pittsburgh Steelers have lacked a dynamic offense. The unit’s lack of stability has led to nearly a decade-long playoff win drought despite consistent elite defenses on the other side of the ball.

This past year, after Justin Fields started the campaign 4-2, Mike Tomlin opted to make the change to veteran Russell Wilson. The move paid immediate dividends, winning six of his first seven outings, but ended in five straight losses, including a limp postseason defeat against the rival Baltimore Ravens.

But perhaps Wilson’s latest off-the-field move will make up for his entire shaky tenure with the black and gold.

With free agency looming, the Steelers traded a second-round pick for disgruntled and uber-talented DK Metcalf, immediately signing him to a five-year/$150M contract. The acquisition instantly forms one of the best wide receiver tandems in the league, opposite of George Pickens, and creates a much more explosive aerial attack.

FOX Sports’ Jordan Schultz hinted Wilson might’ve been influential in helping former Seahawks teammate Metcalf land in Pittsburgh.

“DK Metcalf’s girlfriend, Normani, recently revealed that Russell Wilson and his wife, Ciara, were actually the ones who set her and Metcalf up,”
