Reporter criticized for inappropriate remark to WNBA’s Caitlin Clark

Superstar Caitlin Clark, the NCAA’s all-time leading scorer, was drafted No. 1 overall by the WNBA’s Indiana Fever only a few days ago. 

During her introductory press conference with the Fever, IndyStar reporter Gregg Doyel was in attendance and made a completely unprofessional remark. Doyel began by making a heart gesture with his hands towards Caitlin, who quickly replied, “You like that?” 

Doyel responded, “I like that you’re here. I like that you’re here.”

Clark made light of the uncomfortable situation, saying, “I do that at my family after every game.”

“Okay, well, start doing it to me, and we’ll get along just fine,” Doyel replied.

Clark, one of the biggest names in women’s sports, was professional throughout the conversation, but social media didn’t react so kindly to Doyel’s comments.
