SEATTLE — It’s no secret that the Seattle Reign has struggled during the first half of the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) season. They currently sit second-to-last in the standings having only won two games, drawn one and lost the other nine. Last week’s 5-2 loss at Kansas City added insult to injury but the team is soldiering on, determined to fix their mistakes and turn the season around.
“What I’m pretty proud of with this group is that we’ve come in and still worked hard. We watch film and we try to get better each day. That’s all you can ask in situations like this,” Reign defender Lauren Barnes told The Equalizer after training on Wednesday. “And then a little bit of luck, a little bit of keep going and, especially with this season, it could turn around at literally any moment.”
