European Championships
Last week we discussed the results of qualifications; this week, we’ve moved on to finals! Competing athletes from the class of 2025 will be covered in Last Week In College Gym News, our weekly roundup that publishes every Monday during the offseason. Only one 2027 athlete competed in finals–France’s Ming Gherardi van Eijken–and unfortunately, she did not have her best routines in finals. A fall on her Rudi resulted in a seventh place finish in vault finals, and on floor, a fall on her Moors yielded the same result.
Canadian Nationals
While last week’s article covered the qualification session of level 10 nationals, level 10 finals, high performance, and open divisions have occurred since.
Level 10
For level 10 finals, several recruits had strong results. Kylee McQueen (Maryland, ‘26) took second in the all-around, with Chloe Ross (Kent State, ‘26) coming fourth. On vault, uncommitted Jaylyn Nagle (‘25) took the title, with three-star Makenzie Grant (Pittsburgh, ‘25) coming third. Uncommitted Seren Jackson (‘26) won the national bars title while Natasha Lopez (Bowling Green, ‘25) took fifth. Cristella Brunetti-Burns (‘26), known for her beam at the elite level, took the beam title, while McQueen took second, with uncommitted…
