USC star wins gold in the long jump
Southern California’s Johnny Brackins won the USATF Indoor Championship gold medal in the long jump in thrilling fashion. Brackins hadn’t cleared eight meters in any of his first five jumps and entered his final attempt eight overall. However, Brackins saved his best for last, jumping a new personal-best 8.23 meters to win the gold as the youngest man in the field.
Brackins’ win came one day after he finished 10th in the 60 meter hurdles in 7.66 seconds.
