Let’s face it, it’s a great time to be a runner (though, hasn’t it always been?), with the explosion of shoe technology and seemingly every new release promising to be THE one to help us run faster and more comfortably. Puma’s kicking down the door, calling this their fastest racer yet.

Skeptical? I was too—until I laced them up.

Who Is It Good For?

Who is the Puma Fast-R 3 a good fit for, let’s break it down by some common categories:

  • Wide Feet: No. The entire shoe runs narrow.
  • Heavier Runners: Negative. The narrow platform and sectioning of the heel and forefoot may be too aggressive for heavier runners. 
  • Long Runs: Absolutely! It’s barely-there weight and juicy foam will have you jamming on your long runs and on race day.
  • Front of the Pack: Definitely a shoe for speedsters hunting their next PR! A top option for the half-marathon and marathon.
