The second of four major golf tournaments is set to begin on Thursday, with the 2024 PGA Championship commencing at Valhalla Golf Club.
A star-studded field of contestants is lined up to compete at Valhalla, headlined by Scottie Scheffler, the reigning Masters champion. Scheffler followed that win in Augusta with victory at the RBC Heritage the following week but hasn’t played since then. His wife Meredith gave birth to their first child, a son, last week.
But there are storylines, and contenders, galore beyond Scheffler, too. Perhaps last weekend’s Wells Fargo winner Rory McIlroy can find more success at Valhalla, the site of his last major championship, 10 years ago. Or maybe Brooks Koepka wins the PGA Championship in back-to-back years.
