Paula Badosa reveals change she figured out she needed to make

Paula Badosa reveals she is starting to make certain changes and adjustments to her game after realizing the competition has gotten a bit too familiar with her game. Badosa, who reached a career-high ranking of No 2 last year, is now ranked at No 42 in the world and she hasn’t won any titles since winning Sydney in the opening week of the 2022 season.

“I see that the players are starting to get to know me, so we have decided to change some things in my game and make tactical adjustments. It is not easy, in the middle of a game, to change the position of return or hit a parallel in a difficult situation, but I’m on that path so I have to continue on that path,” Badosa said, per Punto de Break.

Badosa aims to return to the top

Badosa has had some notable wins in 2023 but she needs more consistency in order to return to winning titles. In Madrid, Badosa defeated world No 6 Cori Gauff but then suffered a 6-4 6-4 defeat to Maria Sakkari in the round-of-16.

Going forward, Badosa hopes to remain competitive against the best and clinch more strong wins. “The main thing for me is to continue competing regularly, improving little by little and moving forward in the process.
