Paula Badosa aspires to be one of the best in the world

2024 was the year of the comeback for Paula Badosa, in which she reached the level to be able to aspire to the top positions of the WTA ranking again. The Spanish former WTA No.2 hopes to continue her climb also in 2025.

Paula is opening her season at the Brisbane International, with great prospects and the confidence to compete with the strongest.

In an interview given in view of the Australian tournament, the 27-year-old Spaniard talked about her expectations for the new year, revealing the details of her preparation.

“I’m really looking forward to this new season. Australia is one of my favorite places to play tennis during the year, so I’m really looking forward to it. I think my preseason was pretty good, so I’m really happy to be back here. Honestly, I think I had one of the best preseasons of my career. I worked really hard, with very clear goals in mind, and I hope all the work I’ve done will pay off as soon as possible. I can’t wait to see the work pay off.

Last year was a rollercoaster. It was really tough, but at the same time it was comforting and valuable. Coming back from an injury like that, at first I didn’t know if I would be able to do everything, because I was still in pain.
