After all, that’s exactly what the Chiefs quarterback did one month ago in a text to his wife Brittany.
Brittany Mahomes revealed his prescient message in an Instagram post Tuesday in celebration of the Chiefs’ 25-22 overtime win over the 49ers in Super Bowl 58. While the game went down to the wire, there was never a doubt for the Mahomes family, who spoke this one into existence.
The post features multiple photos of the family after Kansas City’s big win. The last photo in the sequence is a screenshot of two text messages from her husband.
The first one, dated Jan. 5, 2024 at 1:20 p.m. reads: “I decided we are going to win the Super Bowl.”
It’s followed by another message from the 28-year-old quarterback: “I’ll see y’all in Vegas I’m not done.”
Brittany Mahomes spoke to how special and unique the season was in her caption below the post, calling her husband “a true leader and a team player” and applauding how he was able to work through all of the ups and downs while ignoring the doubters.
Patrick Mahomes delivered on his promise, showing why he’s the NFL’s highest-paid player with a second consecutive Super Bowl victory. He and the Chiefs will look for a three-peat in 2025.
