Paige Bueckers and her fellow teammates made history over the weekend as the star athlete debuted her Nike GT Hustle 3 PE during the inaugural Women’s Champions Classic at Barclays Center.
As previously reported in October, Bueckers is the first-ever college basketball player to get a Nike sneaker, which became official on December 7 with its release on the Nike platform. That same day, Bueckers and a few of her teammates (whom she gave surprise pairs to) sported the shoes during a matchup against Louisville, whom they defeated 85 to 52.
The Paige Bueckers x Nike GT Hustle 3 boasts a multicolor design with mixtures of light blue, white and purple, and include the area codes “860” for UConn and “612,” which pay homage to her hometown of Edina, Minnesota. There is also the incorporation of the message “Be You, Be Great.”

On the heel is a graphic of Buecker’s last name, which is edited to make it appear as “Buckets.” Additional details include an updated Air Zoom unit complete with Nike’s Air Zoom Strobel and a Flywire cable lacing system.
