Orlando to host U.S. vs. Belgium showdown in April’s Billie Jean King Cup qualifiers

The USTA National Campus in Orlando is set to host the U.S. versus Belgium Billie Jean King Cup by Gainbridge qualifying competition on April 12-13, 2024. It will be the first time that the city in Florida has hosted the “World Cup of Tennis.”

Both reigning US Open champion and world No.3 Coco Gauff and world No.5 Jessica Pegula played in last year’s qualifying, held in Delray Beach.

Top professional women’s tennis players representing the U.S. and Belgium will compete in a best-of-five match format. The qualifying event in Orlando is one of eight being held around the world in April, with the winners of each advancing to the Billie Jean King Cup Finals that will take place in Seville, Spain, in November 2024.

Guided by Hall of Famer Lindsay Davenport as team captain for the first time, Americans will compete on home soil against Belgium, with the final team nominations expected to be announced in March. Two singles matches will be played on Friday, April 12, at 6 p.m., while two reverse singles matches and a doubles match are scheduled for Saturday, April 13, at 2 p.m. An amended Saturday schedule is possible if one nation clinches victory in the third or fourth singles match.

The United States leads all nations in all-time titles, with 18.
