The 2025 Women’s College World Series continues as the playing field shrinks, and another win-or-go-home matchup is set for Sunday evening, as No. 16 Oregon will take on No. 2 Oklahoma.
Oregon started the WCWS against No. 9 UCLA, losing 4-2. The Ducks then faced off against Ole Miss, their first chance to be eliminated, but prevailed 6-5 in 10 innings. Despite playing three extra frames, Oregon managed to pull out the win via a walk-off walk in the bottom of the 10th.
Oklahoma has won four Women’s College World Series in a row and six of the past eight. The Sooners are also the home favorites, as their softball stadium in Norman is about 20 minutes south of Oklahoma City, where the WCWS takes place. Oklahoma beat Tennessee in their first game in a thrilling walk-off win, but the Sooners then came up short against their rival Texas, losing 4-2. They now face elimination for the first time this WCWS.
