After last year’s final loss at Wimbledon, last season finalist Ons Jabeur got the perfect revenge.The very strong Tunisian tennis player, perfectly at ease on grass-courts, beat Elena Rybakina, a player able to stop her in the final of the 2022 Championships, in three sets, reaching the semifinals at the All England Club for the second consecutive year.
Now, Ons will face Aryna Sabalenka in what looks like a spectacular semi-final today.Jabeur, thanks to this victory, managed to become the first tennis player in the Wimbledon women’s singles to reach two consecutive semifinals on the lawns of the All England Club, succeeding Her Majesty Serena Williams.The US former legend was, before Ons, the last tennis player to reach this milestone, in the two-year period 2018-2019.
On that occasion, Serena was also able to reach the final both times, losing to Angelique Kerber and Simona Halep respectively.
