Ons Jabeur criticized the French Open spectators when notified about fans reselling tickets after seeing a women’s match scheduled for Sunday’s night session. The first six primetime matches at the French Open were all between men.
The French Open organizers started receiving strong criticism, with some accusing the tournament’s organizers of very openly putting the women behind the men. The French Open organizers seemingly took notice and scheduled 2023 Australian Open champion Sabalenka and 2017 US Open champion Sloane Stephens for the night session.
But when those who bought the ticket heard about the scheduled match, some of them started reselling the tickets.

“It is time to change that vision, because I find that people don’t watch many female matches, and they just judge that it’s gonna be a crappy match.
But it’s not the case. There are a lot of extraordinary matches. Women are training, making a lot of efforts, playing extraordinary matches. I met many people who say, Well, the female matches, blah, blah, blah, and I ask them, Did you watch a female match? They said no.
