Andy Roddick sent a message of encouragement to Ons Jabeur after the Tunisian’s heartbreaking Wimbledon final loss, writing he has more belief in her winning Wimbledon one day than he had in himself. After losing to Elena Rybakina in the 2022 Wimbledon final, Jabeur suffered back-to-back final losses at The Championships after Marketa Vondrousova handed the Tunisian a 6-4 6-4 loss in this year’s final at The All England Club.
With that loss, 28-year-old Jabeur lost her third Grand Slam final in 12 months as she was also beaten by Iga Swiatek in the 2022 US Open final. After losing this year’s Wimbledon final as well, Jabeur became very emotional as it was evident that she was crushed and devastated by the outcome.
Roddick, who lost three Wimbledon finals to Roger Federer, reached out to Jabeur – who once revealed that the American was her idol growing up.
