Ons Jabeur was extremely thrilled and delighted for the couple who got engaged moments after her Guadalajara second-round match. On Tuesday night in Guadalajara, No 1 seed Jabeur ousted Alycia Parks 6-2 6-2 in her tournament opener.
Moments after the match, a couple made their way onto the court and the man got on his knee and proposed to his girlfriend. As it was happening, Jabeur was excitedly jumping and smiling. When the girl said “Yes” and the couple shared a kiss, Jabeur – who has been married since 2015 to former fencer and her current trainer Karim Kamoun – told them: “Welcome to the club!” Also, Jabeur signed them some tennis balls as a gift from her.
