ONE Championship atomweight Muay Thai champion Allycia Rodrigues has received a new opponent for her upcoming attempt at record fourth title defense, per sources with the promotion.
Her previous opponent, Israel’s Shir Cohen, pulled out for a second time after the pair were scheduled to clash at ONE Fight Night 32 on July 11th, 2025.
As a result, the promotion went looking outside their roster to sign a champion from abroad to fill the gap and face Rodrigues in the main event of ONE Fight Night 33.
Swedish ISKA and WBC strawweight Muay Thai champion Johanna Persson ended up being the perfect fighter to step up and challenge the dominant Brazilian champion.
Persson is coming off of a 2024 campaign in which she went on a six-fight tear, winning two championships and evolving into a fighter who can pose a real threat to an elite talent like Rodrigues.
As for the ONE Championship atomweight champion, Allycia is now 4-1 in the promotion, only ever coming up short up a weight against a top-three pound-for-pound fighter, striking prodigy Smilla Sundell.
Despite that lone loss, Rodrigues is still undefeated in her own division in ONE with four title wins at atomweight, including wins over former champion Janet Todd, and three-sport champion/superstar…
