After a solid comeback in the fourth inning, Oklahoma does it again. The top-ranked Sooners defeated the third-ranked Seminoles 5-0 in Game 1 of the 2023 Women’s College World Series on Wednesday night.
Oklahoma’s win was not only defined by their pitcher, Jordy Bahl, who completed a shutout and recorded 10 strikeouts.
Thursday is make it or break it o’clock for the Seminoles. According to ESPN’s Wednesday broadcast, 76% of teams that have won Game 1 go on to win the title. In the 18 editions of the WCWS since the best-of-three final series was implemented, only five have gone to a third game.
