Ohio State’s Jacy Sheldon remains week-to-week

Texas forward Aaliyah Moore will miss the rest of the season after tearing her ACL against Alabama State on Dec. 11. Hers is just one in a string of injuries that have plagued college basketball this season.

Top teams such as UConn, Ohio State and Indiana — not to mention squads fighting to be ranked, Texas among them — all have dealt with injuries through the first five weeks of the 2022-23 campaign.

Azzi Fudd, UConn

The sophomore exited her team’s game against Notre Dame in the second quarter after colliding with a teammate. She was kept out of the second half as a precaution, and an MRI confirmed that she will miss up to six weeks. The timeline means Fudd will likely return by mid-January.

Fudd is no stranger to injuries, as the guard tore her ACL and MCL in high school, and then missed 11 games during her freshman season at UConn with a foot injury.

Prior to the injury, Fudd led UConn with 20.6 points per game.
