Ohio State wins eighth-straight game to earn team of the week honors

After dropping its first game of the season in early November, Ohio State has rallied with eight straight wins, the latest an overtime win over No. 25 Penn State in the Big Ten Conference opener, earning the Buckeyes NCAA.com Team of the Week honors.

Ohio State won two more games this week to climb to 12th in the latest Associated Press Top 25 poll, making the season-opening loss to Southern California (83-74) back on November 6 a distant memory.

In the comeback win at home over Penn State on Sunday, Ohio State trailed Penn State 68-61 at the end of the third period. The Buckeyes scored the first 10 points of the fourth period to surge back in the lead, but the game would require overtime as the Nittany Lions fought back to tie the score at 80 at the end of regulation. Ohio State scored the first nine points in overtime and allowed just one Penn State field goal to seal the 94-84 win.
