O.J. Simpson’s murder trial continues to make the headlines — even in 2024. 

In April of this year, Simpson died after a long battle with prostate cancer. The former football star was 76 years old at the time of his passing. 

While he initially rose to fame on the gridiron, that’s not what Simpson is most remembered for. His legacy is more closely tied to the murders of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend, Ron Goldman. The two were brutally stabbed outside of Brown Simpson’s house, and Simpson became the prime subject in the case. 

After a lengthy trial, Simpson was acquitted. On October 3, 1995, he was found not guilty by the jury on both counts of murder. As a result, the case goes down as one of the most controversial in U.S. history. 

Following the death of Simpson, new information on the murder trial and investigation was released by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). The agency released documents about the case and what went into the investigation of the two murders.
