With many nations finalizing rosters for the 2023 Women’s World Cup — and the USWNT set to announce its squad this week — Just Women’s Sports is keeping tabs on all of the NWSL players who will be traveling to Australia and New Zealand this summer.
Players competing at the World Cup will be released from their NWSL teams on June 26, nearly a month before the World Cup begins on July 20. The NWSL doesn’t take a break for the World Cup, but teams will have a lighter workload during the tournament, with no games scheduled from July 10-20 and from August 7-17. The World Cup window will also feature Challenge Cup games rather than regular season NWSL competition.
See below for a team-by-team NWSL breakdown. Please note that some countries announce larger, provisional World Cup rosters prior to submitting their official 23-player squad to FIFA. Players from those nations are designated accordingly.
