Novak Djokovic sails into last 16

Novak Djokovic will compete in the last 16 at the Miami Open. The six-time winner defeated Camilo Ugo Carabelli 6-1, 7-6 in an hour and 45 minutes, remaining on the title course. Novak dominated the opening set, bringing it home in 34 minutes.

The Argentine pulled the break back early in the second set and challenged the legend until the tie break. The veteran stood strong and clinched it 7-1 to move over the top in style. The Serb outplayed his rival behind the first serve and lost serve once. 

Djokovic converted three of seven break points and had the upper hand in service winners and at the net. Ugo Carabelli fought well from the baseline, which was not enough to extend the battle and introduce a decider.

Novak served well in the opening set and kept the pressure on the other side. He broke Camilo from 15-40 in the second game of the duel after the rival’s slice mistake. The legend held at 15 in game three to cement the lead and grabbed the fifth game after deuces to move 4-1 up.
